Job Summary
Work one on one with children who have special needs in the classroom to promote their development and ensure opportunities meet individual requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, and supervised environment while administering first aid or CPR as needed. Collaborate with the Education Disability Services team to determine developmental levels and plan activities fostering social, communication, and self-reliance skills. Conduct parent conferences, home visits, and IFSP/IEP meetings as requested, documenting ongoing family contact. Greets children and families warmly while modeling a positive, calm attitude for all program participants.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be turning 18 by the end of August of the current year
- Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and in writing
- Must enjoy and respect young children and their families
- Must have experience working with infants, toddlers or preschoolers
- Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire a First Aid and CPR Certification
- Must maintain the First Aid and CPR Certification during employment
