Job Summary
Center Manager II leads and coordinates Head Start program operations for the local service area, ensuring quality services that comply with Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations. Responsibilities include providing visionary leadership, planning and evaluating program operations, developing local policies, representing the center in the community, supervising staff, coordinating budgeting and procurement, recruiting and engaging families, maintaining partnerships with service agencies, and ensuring compliance and accurate documentation across programs. The role emphasizes collaboration across multiple local teams, continuous program improvement, community assessments, and effective communication with staff, families, and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or 2 years equivalent experience in early childhood education, public or community health, social work, management, or another field directly related to the responsibilities of the position.
- One-year experience supervising two or more staff.
- One-year experience working in a leadership or management position.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership experience in Head Start or early childhood programs
- Supervisory experience with staff (2+)
- Budgeting and fiscal management
- Community engagement and partnership development
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
