Job Summary
Head Start - RV - Teacher leads classroom operations including planning daily schedules and weekly lesson plans, delivering developmentally appropriate learning experiences, promoting literacy and math readiness, supervising children, conducting data entry and recordkeeping for all children, and coordinating parent conferences/home visits. Responsibilities include safety and sanitation, implementing curriculum per Head Start Performance Standards, providing family services support, recruitment of potential parents, and collaboration with staff to ensure program services benefit enrolled children and families. Requires First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire and ongoing maintenance; positions follow MN Head Start standards with multi-level qualifications (Teacher III–V) and 9-month hourly employment; typical hours 40 per week.
Required Qualifications
- AA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field for Teacher III with 12 credits and 1,040 hours experience; BA/BS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field for Teacher IV with 1,040 hours experience; MA/MS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field for Teacher V with 1,040 hours experience.
