Job Summary
Head Start - Infant/Toddler Teacher leads classroom operations by planning daily schedules and weekly lesson plans, implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, promoting school readiness, and ensuring safety and sanitation. Responsibilities include supervising children, conducting parent conferences and home visits, data entry and recordkeeping for all children, collaborating with staff, and supporting family engagement. The role requires implementing curriculum per Head Start Standards, maintaining a safe environment, and coordinating with families to promote children's progress. Must obtain CPR/First Aid within 90 days of hire and meet credentialing requirements (CDA or higher) as applicable to the assigned Teacher level. Hours are 40 per week, 12-month position in Crookston, MN with hourly pay range USD 18.41–USD 21.40.
Required Qualifications
- Infant/Toddler Credential or comparable credential (CDA)
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA credential within 9 months of hire
- Teacher qualifications by level (AA in ECE/Child Development with 1,040 hours experience for Teacher III; BA/BS for Teacher IV; MA/MS for Teacher V) or equivalent
- Demonstrated competency to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions
- Comfortable working with computers and program-specific systems
- Ability to perform data entry and maintain records
