Job Summary
Head Start Lead Teacher responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, inclusive early childhood education activities under the supervision of the Center Manager, collaborating with Education/Disabilities Specialists, promoting social competence, and ensuring parental involvement. Requires knowledge of child growth and development, early childhood education, and family support; strong communication skills; leadership for program continuity; and ability to lift/move children up to age five. Must meet background and drug-screen requirements and have a GA PDS Profile with credentials and career level listed; upload GA PDS Profile and resume with online application.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education or closely related field
- Experience and knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Experience working in inclusive environments
- Ability to communicate with families with limited English proficiency
- Knowledge of theories and principles of child growth and development and family support
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and stability for program continuity
- Ability to move/lift children up to age five
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must pass drug test
- Must pass background check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
- Current GA PDS Profile with credentials and career level listed
