Job Summary
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Head Start and Tennessee Early Learning Development Standards. Conduct ongoing child assessments to individualize instruction and create a warm, inclusive environment fostering curiosity and exploration. Communicate regularly with families to support development and maintain accurate records of attendance and communications. Provide supervision and mentoring to Teacher Assistant(s) while ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and school policies. Participate in professional development, reflective supervision, and team meetings. This full-time, 10-month role at Southern Avenue Charter Elementary School supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for preschool-aged children.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience working with preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of TN-ELDS and Head Start Performance Standards
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the success of all scholars
Desired Qualifications
