Job Summary
Oversee Head Start teaching staff in the assigned early childhood education center by providing leadership, helping in classrooms, and uploading documentation. Implement and track age-appropriate lesson plans while conducting regular classroom observations to improve instructional practices and adherence to program standards. Analyze child assessment data to inform planning and collaborate with the Principal to develop professional development plans and facilitate onboarding for new staff. Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, state licensing requirements, and agency policies while managing work scheduling and conducting routine department meetings. Serve as lead manager when the Principal is not at the site and facilitate communication between staff, families, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years teaching Experience in early childhood education
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or administrative role
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and developmentally appropriate child development practices
- Ability to work effectively with diverse families and communities
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
- A valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
- The ability to access an internet provider to work remote and offsite in emergency situations
- Willingness to accommodate planned and unplanned travel to and from Head Start Center and other C-HCCAA or meeting/conference locations, including overnight and/or out of town travel
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD
