Job Summary
Co-create weekly learning activities and curriculum with teachers while integrating health, nutrition, transportation, and family service components. Monitor and count children at all times to ensure a safe environment, implement positive behavior supports, and deliver health and nutrition education including classroom food experiences and hygiene routines. Act as a bus monitor when assigned to supervise routes, loading, and unloading. Collaborate with the team on inventory, cleaning, and classroom prep, and maintain frequent contact with families through home visits and conferences. Attend meetings, workshops, and trainings to stay current with Head Start performance standards and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Associate or Baccalaureate degree
- Enrollment in a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program upon hire (to be completed within two years of the time of hire)
- Bilingual
- Former EHS or HS parent
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certificates
- Health Physical Screen
- TB test
- Criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and FOCAF Head Start standards
- Drug test
- Random drug and/or alcohol testing
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance
