Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional activities. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for Individual Education Plans and supervise assigned teacher aides. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process and establish open communication with parents, students, and staff. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community members while participating in faculty meetings and staff development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one-year student teaching or approved internship
