Job Summary
Conduct daily softball coaching, developing practice schedules, assigning positions, and instructing players on rules, techniques, and equipment. Determine game strategies based on team capabilities while monitoring academic performance and enforcing eligibility requirements. Organize team meetings, supervise athletes, and maintain records for insurance, equipment, and awards. Confer with parents regarding performance and follow state regulations governing the athletic program. Represent the school by communicating with booster clubs and participating in events like pep assemblies. Potentially drive athletes to off-campus games using the district transportation bus.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Arizona Coaching Certificate
- NFHS Level I Certification (Includes Concussion in Sports, Fundamentals of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Protecting Students from Abuse)
- NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety Certificate / CPR
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport
- Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program
Desired Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred
