Job Summary
Lead the high school softball program as head coach and oversee a staff of coaches for the sport and second sport (volleyball) while also fulfilling teaching duties. Responsibilities include organizing and implementing athletic policies, instructing athletes in fundamental skills and game strategy, supervising and coordinating staff, promoting character development and student-athlete conduct, coordinating with the athletic director and principals, organizing clinics and staff meetings, managing equipment and budget considerations, handling scheduling, and engaging in public relations and recruiting to sustain a competitive program.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Has previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of softball
- Ability to serve as a role model for student athletes through instruction and actions
- Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training; promote character development and self-discipline
