Head Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Lead the maintenance department by performing scheduled preventative maintenance, supervising front-line personnel, and developing employee schedules. Implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs while monitoring key metrics such as equipment uptime, downtime, and mean time between failures. Design, plan, install, and maintain plant systems including boilers, air compressors, welding and piping, and electrical circuitry. Train and develop existing and new maintenance staff to promote a culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and safety. Ensure appropriate staffing to support production and emergency needs while maintaining compliance and reducing maintenance costs through engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Monitor maintenance KPIs including: Equipment uptime
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Monitor maintenance KPIs including: Downtime
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Monitor maintenance KPIs including: PM completion rate
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Monitor maintenance KPIs including: Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Monitor maintenance KPIs including: Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Facilities and Utilities Management
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Boilers
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Air compressors
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Welding and Piping
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Electrical circuitry and PLC's
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: Electro/mechanical utility and electrical trouble shooting
  • knowledge of several of the following areas: Oversee maintenance and operation of: General equipment and building maintenance
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Minimum of at least 5 years maintenance experience
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing maintenance teams
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field or sufficient experience is preferred
  • Experience with air cylinders, solenoid valves, steam traps, motor starters, gear reducers, inverter drives, or industrial laundry equipment is a plus
