Head Performance Coach - KC Current II

Job Summary

Own the physical development of every KCC II player through individual profiling, program design, and daily delivery. Build and manage the annual training periodization in partnership with technical staff, tracking load via GPS and heart rate data to refine prescriptions based on outcomes. Lead on-field warm-ups and cool-downs, prepare athletes for matches through activation and recovery programming, and coordinate nutrition and hydration guidance. Maintain accurate performance records and testing data while supporting players moving between the First Team, KCC II, and the Academy. Contribute to return-to-play progressions with medical staff and advance sports performance initiatives across the player pathway. Travel with the team for away matches and camps as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of strength and conditioning or sports performance experience working with collegiate, academy, or professional athletes
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Prior experience in soccer
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • NSCA Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS)
  • Additional performance certifications (NASM PES, USAW, or equivalent)
  • Experience in supporting female soccer athletes
  • Strong working knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, sports science, and athlete monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with GPS, heart rate, force plate, wellness, and athlete management technologies
  • Able to design and deliver comprehensive performance programs for elite athletes
  • Track record of collaborating with technical and medical staff inside a high-performance environment
  • Communicates clearly and works well as part of a staff
  • Organized, with the systems to stay that way through a congested calendar
  • Attentive to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving instincts
