Job Summary
Recruit, train, and evaluate OIAS wheelchair basketball officials while supervising league operations and managing rule interpretation for coaches. Lead in-person and virtual training sessions for new and returning referees, conduct performance observations, and develop assessment criteria. Respond to inquiries regarding rule changes, distribute memos, and provide input on the OIAS rule book. Officiate playoff games and the state championship as assigned. Requires active OHSAA certification and experience in traditional and wheelchair basketball. Compensation for games is handled separately via the DragonFly platform.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an active OHSAA basketball official
- 3+ years officiating traditional basketball
- 1+ year officiating wheelchair basketball
- Comprehensive knowledge of OHSAA, NFHS, and OIAS basketball rules
- Experienced in leading, evaluating, and conducting trainings in professional settings
- Dedicated to the intent of the OIAS Wheelchair Basketball League
- Basic computer skills to include email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, online meeting and training platforms
- Reliable online and in-person communication skills for trainings, memos, and responses to inquiries
- Background check required
