Job Summary
Lead oversight of hair/wigs, makeup, and wardrobe needs backstage for touring Broadway, concerts, and major ticketed events in the Music Hall at Fair Park. Supervise load-ins, show runs, and laundry crews while coordinating with department heads and stage managers. Manage inventory, maintain equipment, and troubleshoot sewing machines, washers, and dryers. Distribute dressing room amenities and ensure safety for technicians and performers. Provide direct supervision during rehearsals, performances, and maintenance calls. Attend production meetings and post-mortems to improve backstage function. Assist other departments with scenic elements, lighting, and storage tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Five years experience in professional technical theater
- At least two years experience overseeing hair/wigs, makeup, and or wardrobe/laundry functions for Broadway tours
- Experience in industrial laundry
- Sewing skills
- Costume repair and maintenance
- Ability to use all of the tools necessary to perform duties
- Experience reading and interpreting run sheets
- Experience interpreting technical documents
- Experience interpreting construction and design drawings
- Experience interpreting technical riders
- Demonstrated fluency in Microsoft Office software
