Job Summary
Lead AI core technology research and development in Computer Vision to prepare Samsung’s future and differentiate products. Direct the research and development of Computer Vision capabilities, collaborate with Samsung Research teams to explore opportunities to revolutionize Samsung products with new AI technology, and ensure centers publish at top venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI) while achieving patent and paper goals and organizing scientific events. Requires a PhD and 12+ years in Computer Vision, deep understanding of state-of-the-art CV theories and techniques, experience leading innovative research projects, strong communication to coordinate with global R&D teams, a track record of leading ML/CV teams and CV-related product development, and a solid programming background. Publications in CV-related fields are a nice-to-have. Base pay range is $345,000—$440,000 USD with annual bonus and comprehensive benefits. The role will be performed in an office setting in Mountain View, CA.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Vision or related field
- 12+ years of work experience in Computer Vision or a closely related discipline
- Understanding of state-of-the-art Computer Vision theories and techniques
- Experience leading innovative projects in research environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage centers with engineers and researchers
- Experience leading teams of machine learning/computer vision specialists and CV-related product development
- Strong programming background
- Publications in CV-related venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI) is a plus
