Head of Upper School

Lead and manage the SCH Upper School (grades 9-12) as a strategic and day-to-day educational leader. Promote intellectual curiosity, academic challenge, and student engagement while guiding curriculum innovation, teacher development, and a balanced, student-centered environment aligned with SCH's mission. Drive leadership opportunities, student belonging, character development, wellness, and ethical decision-making; foster collaboration across faculty, families, and the broader school community; oversee programmatic areas including athletics, arts, robotics and innovation, global learning, partnerships, and experiential education; partner with the COO and school leadership to plan, schedule, and implement Upper School initiatives and long-range priorities. Desired capabilities include strong communication, relationship-building, empathy, integrity, inclusivity, and a commitment to diversity and global perspectives in a dynamic independent school context located in Philadelphia.
