Job Summary
Head of Tax Strategy at SumUp leads the execution of tax strategy across corporate, transfer pricing, indirect, and withholding taxes for a multinational group, translating strategic priorities into practical plans, partnering with business units on structuring, M&A, market expansion, and product initiatives, overseeing transfer pricing framework, governing Pillar Two/Globe, CbCR, and broader regulatory developments, and developing the Tax Strategy team while collaborating with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, FP&A, and other business teams.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive tax experience in multinational environments (in-house and advisory)
- Deep expertise in corporate tax and transfer pricing
- Exposure to cross-border structuring and M&A
- Knowledge of Pillar Two / GloBE, CbCR, and public CbCR
- Experience leading tax teams, people management, prioritisation, performance development
- Hands-on mindset with ability to move between strategic thinking and practical execution
- Experience managing tax audits and controversies with authorities
- Strong accounting/financial statement literacy with finance or accounting background
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex tax matters to senior non-tax stakeholders
- Experience managing external advisers effectively across quality, scope, and cost
