Job Summary
Lead and deliver DGIEU’s enterprise risk management framework, ensuring Group methodologies, policies, and approaches are embedded across the business while meeting local regulatory requirements. Provide expert risk advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on regulatory requirements and emerging EU trends. Champion strong risk practices, manage BaFin relationships, deliver risk training, and produce high-quality Board/Committee papers. Manage and develop risk professionals, align Solvency II, ORSA, RCSA activities, and contribute to sustainable growth with a governance-first approach. Fluent in German and English; based in Wiesbaden with hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of regulatory risk and compliance within EU Insurance
- Risk leadership experience across strategy, risk appetite frameworks, and enterprise risk management (including RCSA)
- Deep expertise in Solvency II and European regulation, with the ability to interpret and apply BaFin requirements in a commercial context
- Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and regulators, acting as a trusted advisor to CRO, Board, and executive leadership
- Experience delivering high-quality Board and Committee reporting, translating complex risk into clear, actionable insights
- Strong track record in risk management, including capital optimisation, stress testing, ORSA, and recovery planning
- Ability to embed risk culture and awareness across the organisation through training and engagement initiatives
- Fluent in German and English
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance risk, regulation, and business growth/innovation
- Strong governance and control mindset, ensuring robust frameworks, policies, and continuous improvement
