Job Summary
Head of Renewables Planning leading the development and delivery of a National Renewables Planning team for Bidwells, shaping renewable energy strategy and managing professional instructions for a range of clients (public, private, developers and landowners). Responsibilities include growing the team, maintaining a portfolio of renewable energy planning instructions (wind, solar, battery storage), targeting new business, implementing business development plans, promoting the Renewables Planning offer, identifying cross-department opportunities, ensuring efficient delivery across the Planning Department, and maintaining proactive collaboration with other teams. Requires RTPI membership, senior leadership experience in Renewables Planning, a planning-related degree, NSIPs experience, and strong IT skills; driving licence is essential. Provides a senior leadership role with extensive stakeholder engagement and opportunity development across a variety of clients and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Member of the RTPI
- Current experience in a Renewables Planning Partner or Director role
- Senior leadership and management experience
- Degree in planning-related/renewables discipline
- Experience of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
- IT proficiency, particularly with the MS Office package
- Full UK driving licence
- DCO experience is desirable
- Experience of developing new business
