Job Summary

Develop and execute an integrated public affairs and policy strategy in Brazil aligned with Novartis business priorities and patient needs. Monitor, analyze, and communicate political, legislative, and regulatory developments impacting the healthcare system. Build trusted relationships with government officials, policymakers, industry associations, academia, and civil society to position Novartis as a thought leader in healthcare access and sustainability. Provide strategic counsel and political intelligence to senior business leaders while leading advocacy efforts and managing compliance risks. Lead and develop a high-performing public affairs team, ensuring strong representation in trade associations and external forums. This role requires a 3-day/week hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and includes a competitive salary, annual bonus, and flexible working arrangements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Law, International Relations, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
  • Significant experience in Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Healthcare Policy, Market Access, or a related leadership role within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, health insurance or life sciences
  • Deep understanding of Brazil's healthcare system, policy environment, legislative processes, and stakeholder landscape, with a strong appreciation of healthcare value, access, and sustainability challenges
  • Proven success in influencing complex policy environments and building trusted relationships with senior external stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams, leading through complexity, and driving organizational impact
  • Ability to operate as a strategic business leader and trusted advisor to senior executives, contributing to broader organizational priorities beyond functional expertise
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Fluent Portuguese and English, both written and spoken
  • Must be available for 3 days/week in office

Desired Qualifications
