Head of Procurement

$110,000–$125,000 year

On-siteScottsdale, Arizona, United States

Full TimeSenior LevelSmall

Job Summary

Execute weekly buying cycles by translating COGS burn rates and inventory targets into purchase orders for heads, shafts, grips, and accessories. Monitor daily inventory positions to diagnose variances against an 8x annual goal, adjusting buying behavior in real time while managing cash flow through risk flagging and escalation. Own all supplier negotiations for pricing, rebate structures, and credit limits with top OEM vendors, maintaining formal contracts to protect commercial interests. Develop category strategies for high-velocity SKUs, benchmark costs against market rates, and drive continuous cost reduction through volume commitments and alternative sourcing. Build executive-level relationships with key OEM partners to secure early visibility on availability and launch timing, while tracking fill rates and lead time accuracy to hold vendors accountable. Partner with finance and operations to align buying with cash flow constraints and support board-level reporting on inventory and supplier health.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, with a track record of owning the buying function directly — not just managing others who do it
  • Demonstrated success in vendor negotiation — pricing, terms, and contract structure — with measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical foundation — comfort with ERP/POS data, spreadsheet-based planning tools, and inventory turn mechanics
  • Financial fluency sufficient to partner credibly with a CFO on cash flow, working capital, and margin conversations
  • A bias toward ownership — doesn't wait to be told inventory is off; builds the systems that surface those signals and acts on them
  • Clear, direct communication style; able to hold vendors accountable without being adversarial
  • Must be onsite at Scottsdale, AZ headquarters

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Experience in specialty retail, consumer goods, or a high-SKU business with seasonal demand patterns
  • golf industry familiarity
