Job Summary
Head of Procurement for a Tanzanian food processing manufacturing company in Iringa. Lead the setup and management of the procurement function, build systems, establish policies and controls, source and manage local and international suppliers for raw materials, packaging, machinery and services, negotiate contracts to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality and timely delivery, collaborate with production, maintenance, finance and quality to forecast needs, implement ERP tools to streamline operations and transparency, monitor supplier performance and risk, ensure compliance with TMDA and TBS standards and tax/import requirements, manage budgets, mentor the procurement team, and provide regular reports on procurement performance and market trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in manufacturing or food processing
- Recognized supply chain certifications are highly preferred
- Strong understanding of local and international sourcing, vendor development, ERP systems and Tanzanian regulatory compliance
