Head of PR & Marketing (Maternity Cover)

Job Summary
Develop and manage comprehensive PR strategies across earned, paid, and owned media channels to drive brand visibility and market positioning. Lead the planning and execution of high-profile events, influencer partnerships, and retail activations while overseeing an internal team of four and external agencies. Cultivate relationships with key press, media outlets, and industry leaders, acting as the primary brand spokesperson for inquiries and crisis communications. Oversee the annual department budget, optimize media spend for ROI, and report weekly performance metrics to senior leadership. Provide out-of-hours support during key events and international travel as required. This 12-month maternity cover role starts in November/December with a hybrid schedule requiring two to three days at the Royal Exchange and up to one day at the West Sussex head office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in a senior communications or PR role
- Experience within the luxury lifestyle, fashion, or related sectors
- Extensive experience in managing communications across multiple global markets
- Experience managing communications in the UK, EU, US, and Middle East
- Ability to adapt strategies and messaging to different cultural contexts and market dynamics
- Proven experience managing and mentoring a small team
- Ability to develop and implement integrated communication strategies across multiple channels
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong crisis communication skills
- Experience managing brand reputation during challenging times
- Willingness to travel as needed, including international travel for events and activations
- In-depth understanding of the luxury market and trends
- Strong network of media and influencer contacts
- Requirements to be in the office 2-3 days a week (Royal Exchange)
- Up to 1 day a week at Aspinal Head Office in West Sussex
- Provide out-of-hours support at key events
