Job Summary
Head of Platforms at Localsearch leads a multidisciplinary technology team to own and evolve the core platforms powering a leading Australian digital brand. Responsibilities include ensuring reliable, secure operations; driving DevOps practices and automated testing; shaping technology and AI strategies; overseeing QA frameworks; managing offshore and hybrid delivery models; building vendor relationships; and upholding security and data protection standards. The role requires extensive software development and platform experience, CRM/payment/subscription domain knowledge, strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication to align technology with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Extensive experience in the technology sector with a focus on software development, CRM systems, payment gateways, or subscription engines
- Proven track record leading and developing multidisciplinary technology teams to achieve business outcomes
- Deep expertise in DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and digital product development
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop technology roadmaps that align with business growth
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and project delivery best practices
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, and data protection practices
