Head of Platform Engineering, Reliability & Control

Job Summary

Own and evolve the enterprise control plane architecture to provide real-time visibility into system health, dependencies, and operational risk. Define SRE and observability standards enabling proactive monitoring, faster incident detection, and consistent reliability practices across distributed systems. Lead release governance and change management frameworks ensuring deployments are predictable, auditable, and aligned with risk and compliance expectations. Drive enterprise-wide automation by implementing AI-enabled monitoring and process orchestration to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency. Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, and Data teams to improve production health and minimize the blast radius of operational failures. Establish and track performance metrics including SLOs, MTTR, and deployment frequency to continuously improve platform reliability and change predictability. Operate on a hybrid model with three days a week in-office.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven senior leadership experience in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or engineering operations
  • Track record of building and scaling shared engineering capabilities across complex, federated technology environments
  • Deep expertise in at least two areas such as SRE/observability, platform engineering, systems integration, release engineering, or process automation
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, including APIs, event-driven design, data flows, and cross-system dependencies
  • Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration platforms, and modern deployment strategies
  • Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, or cloud-native platforms
  • Experience operating within regulated environments, designing and implementing change controls, audit-ready processes, and governance frameworks
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration and process intelligence tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Camunda, Temporal, or similar platforms
  • Practical understanding of AIOps and automation trends
  • Structured, engineering-led leadership style with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Capability to influence across teams and drive alignment without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy or slowing delivery
  • Ability to apply technical expertise pragmatically at enterprise scale
