Job Summary
Head of People & Happiness at Somerce leads recruitment end-to-end, builds and shapes the talent function, and designs culture initiatives to attract, retain, and develop people. You’ll own recruitment and onboarding, performance frameworks, progression paths, and the daily people operations while setting the tone for how it feels to work here. You’ll sit close to the founder and leadership team, push back when needed, and tell the truth about culture, ensuring the right people join and stay as the company scales. This role emphasizes culture as the product and requires strong recruitment instincts, people-ops fundamentals, and high energy with low ego to elevate the team and preserve energy as Somerce grows.
Required Qualifications
- You've built or shaped culture inside a fast-growing business, ideally an agency, startup or scale-up where things move quickly
- You're a genuinely strong recruiter. You can spot talent, sell a vision, and close people
- You understand the people-ops fundamentals (employment basics, contracts, performance, the legal floor) well enough to run them properly and know when to bring in specialists
- You're high energy, low ego, and allergic to corporate fluff
- You believe great things happen when people are in a room together, and you want to be in ours
- You hold a high bar and you raise the people around you to meet it
