Job Summary

Lead the design, development, and management of ASIG while coordinating with RADARLAB and FRANCISLAB to implement scalable technologies and processes for mission support. Develop technological frameworks and engineering models in partnership across Metrea Aerospace to facilitate process automation and decision support from tactical to strategic levels. Identify growth areas for the embedded systems engineering team and establish a systematic approach to professional development and talent acquisition. Support enterprise strategy by informing key ASIG and Electromagnetic and Cyber Group considerations, participating in major technical decisions regarding new systems, asset acquisitions, and investments. Direct research teams to conduct supporting RF and technical research for ASIG and EM&C projects. Engage with external customers and partners to further Metrea's success, representing the company in external fora and co-developing full-stack capabilities. Actively participate in reviewing operational and risk exposure to shape internal programs and future acquisitions, ensuring compliance policies cover all known requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or 20+ years of experience in RF engineering related to signals intelligence, electronic warfare, RF, technical report writing, technical project planning, and communication systems and related manufacturing
  • Must be able to interface with mid-level to senior external/internal customers and have excellent presentation skills
  • Must be able and willing to operate against deadlines with accuracy and a strong attention to detail
  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work with confidential data, which if disclosed, might have significant internal and external impact on the organization
  • Moderate Microsoft Office skills, to include a high level of proficiency in Excel
  • Experience within the aerospace, defense, security and/or government contracting space in a leadership role managing several programs and/or projects simultaneously
  • Experience in leading engineering efforts related to software, hardware, and software defined radio (SDR) and unique capabilities
  • Expert is capturing customer requirements and assisting in the development of statements of work (SOW), associated project plans and technical roadmaps, plans of action and milestones, and customer interactions
  • Advanced understanding of the policies, processes, priorities, and organization of the US Government in general, and the Department of Defense in particular, around national security matters
  • Expert knowledge of the human terrain around the US Government's SI, RF, and communications-based ISR community, coupled with extensive personal contacts and a proven ability to generate high-impact networks
  • Moderate understanding items and actions related to payload development and solutions in the field of signals intelligence, electronic warfare, communications, defense, and aerospace
  • Expert at interacting with industry, scientific, technology, military, policy, and finance communities and utilized knowledge gained to support the development of technical roadmaps and solutions
  • Expert at communicating effectively across cultures, regions and industries, and experience in working in diverse international environments
  • Experience managing people with measurable performance
  • Flexibility to travel frequently and on short notice, both domestic and internationally
  • Ability to obtain and filter information and identify key issues relevant to the achievement of long-term strategic goals
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Strong organizational skills, discipline, with a high sense of reliability, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work effectively in, and leverage a highly collaborative, matrixed environment to achieve project ends
  • Ability to prioritize judiciously and blend flexibility with disciplined execution, to manage competing demands
  • Capacity to balance strategic vs. operational mind-sets and results vs. process orientation
  • Strongly orientated towards performance with solid and consistent ethical compass
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
