Job Summary
Head of Medical Immunology at AbbVie – lead and define the medical strategy across immunology with senior medical leadership responsibilities. Oversee clinical development and evidence generation programs, manage governance and regulatory compliance, and build/maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and external experts. Represent the medical function in senior leadership arenas, collaborate with Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access teams, and drive cross-functional initiatives to align scientific excellence with portfolio objectives. The role requires an advanced life sciences degree (PhD/MD strongly preferred), extensive medical affairs experience, and a proven track record in senior/global medical leadership, clinical development, and strategic execution.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, or a related field — PhD, MD, or equivalent strongly preferred
- Extensive medical affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Proven senior or global medical leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in clinical development, medical strategy, and evidence generation
- Established network of KOL relationships
- Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks governing medical affairs
- Experience working cross-functionally at a senior level
