Job Summary
Head of Mechanical Design leads the Mechanical Design Team, manages internal and external resources to meet deadlines, oversees designs, calculations, layouts and documentation, ensures compliance with technical standards, safety regulations and quality requirements, drives continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methods, strengthens cost competitiveness through design-to-cost strategies and standardization, and collaborates with other departments; requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering with focus on mechanical/plant/process engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience in furnace technology/heat treatment, leadership and intercultural skills, proficiency in 2D/3D CAD and PDM, fluent German and English, and occasional worldwide travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with a focus on mechanical design and/or plant engineering or process engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Leadership skills, technical expertise, and intercultural competence
- Proficiency in working with 2D and 3D CAD systems as well as PDM systems
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Occasional travel (worldwide)
