Job Summary
Manage the Lighting and Video Department by overseeing all technical elements, show crew running tracks, and equipment construction, repair, and maintenance. Create department schedules to ensure coverage for all shows, manage training for members, and maintain a safe, professional environment adhering to OSHA standards. Provide feedback on cue tracks, collaborate with Stage Management on documentation, and execute contingency plans while supporting gigs and marketing events. Maintain the departmental budget, oversee payroll, and design set-up operations for lighting and video elements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts or a similar field; or equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 5 years of previous experience or in a similar environment
- Previous leadership experience
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Lighting and Video
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team in high-pressure environments
- Project Management skills
- The ability to work effectively in low-light environments
- In-depth knowledge and operation of High End Systems HOG lighting consoles
- Experience operating video consoles during a live show
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle technical issues swiftly during a live show
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Budgeting and Departmental budget forecasting skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Ability to obtain OSHA 30 course completion card
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate via headset
- Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: climbing, crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs, working with limited to no visibility
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one's identity and work authorization
