Head of Lifecycle Marketing
RemoteUtah, United States
Job Summary
Build automated nurture programs across onboarding, adoption, and retention to turn non-sales-ready leads into pipeline opportunities. Design signal-driven customer journeys that escalate to human support only when it moves the needle, replacing manual plays with efficient automation. Lead the expansion of a product-led motion alongside the core sales-led business, tailoring lifecycle strategies for both growth engines. Define the marketing-to-success handoff boundary while building a small team and establishing segmentation, content mapping, and measurement playbooks. Operate hands-on with Marketo to operationalize behavioral triggers and data flows, driving immediate lift in lead-to-opportunity conversion.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience spanning marketing, marketing/revenue operations, or a closely related discipline
- clear center of gravity in lifecycle management
- Real depth as a builder — you've stood up or substantially rebuilt a lifecycle, nurture, or marketing-automation function
- you've also run a mature one
- Strong command of lifecycle strategy end to end — acquisition nurture, onboarding, adoption, and retention
- real fluency in behavioral and usage-based triggers
- progressive engagement design
- Hands-on marketing automation depth
- comfortable in Marketo today
- confident helping select and operationalize what comes next
- fluency in segmentation
- data flows
- how attribution and lifecycle instrumentation actually get built
- Fluency across sales-led and product-led motions
- lifecycle will be central to the product-led motion we'll stand up down the road
- understand it deeply enough to lead that expansion when the time comes
- A player-coach mindset
- able to do the work now
- lead a small team soon
- energized by hiring and developing people
- A collaborative operating style
- builds trust across functions
- Product Marketing
- Growth
- Analytics/Ops
- especially Customer Success
- sets boundaries without turf battles
Desired Qualifications
- Bonus: B2B SaaS experience
- ideally in healthcare
- vertical SaaS
- or another considered-purchase, multi-stakeholder category
- any experience where content and self-serve resources reduce cost-to-serve
- You don't just report what happened — you walk into the room with a point of view on what it means and what we should do next
- you can defend it when challenged
- You've rebuilt a marketing technology stack from the ground up before
- not just inherited and operated one
- you know the difference between a clean architecture and a patchwork that looks functional until it isn't
- You've built a nurture motion from nothing
- watched it turn once-dropped leads into real pipeline
- with clear lift in lead-to-opportunity conversion
- especially in enterprise
- You've stood up automated lifecycle programs across onboarding, adoption, and retention
- that handle routine moments without manual effort
- you know the difference between a program that looks automated and one that actually is
- You've built a clean, well-run handoff between marketing and a Customer Success org
- you know that's a relationship you have to design deliberately, not one that just happens
- You've hired and led a team while still doing the work yourself
- you're energized by building the operating model that lets that team scale with the business
- You bring judgment from having run a mature lifecycle function as well as having built one from scratch
- so you know what great looks like, not just what's possible with limited resources
- You think in both sales-led and product-led terms
- you're excited by the idea of shaping a product-led motion as it comes online rather than waiting for someone else to define it
