Job Summary
Head of Licensing & Regulatory Strategy to architect and own Satispay's multi-jurisdictional FinTech regulatory strategy across product lines, driving international expansion. This permanent leadership role defines licensing strategy per product line (banking, payments, securities, crypto), leads end-to-end license execution (initial assessment to final authorization, including EEA passporting), builds regulator relationships, advises Product/Strategy/Executive teams, and maintains the licensing register and calendar. The role requires delivering measurable strategic impact, mentoring high-performing teams, and engaging regulators on product innovation. Candidates typically bring 8+ years in regulatory affairs/licensing/compliance in financial services (3+ years fintech), experience across multiple regulatory frameworks (CRD/CRR, PSD2/PSD3, MiFID II, MiCAR), regulator-facing credibility with European NCAs, and a proven track record of cross-border governance, with English fluency and a willingness to relocate. Relocation support is available.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in regulatory affairs, licensing, legal, or compliance in financial services
- 3+ years specifically in fintech
- experience building or managing growing teams and advising C-level founders
- hands-on experience navigating at least two regulatory frameworks (CRD/CRR, PSD2/PSD3, MiFID II, MiCAR)
- managed a complex portfolio of overlapping licenses and host-authority dynamics
- credible regulator-facing experience with European NCAs (e.g., CSSF, BaFin, Bank of Italy, FCA)
- entrepreneurial mindset and strategic vision for licensing paths impacting cross-border governance
- domain strengths (EMI-to-bank upgrades, passporting across multiple EEA jurisdictions, Visa/Mastercard/PayFac/BIN sponsorship)
- fully fluent in English; Italian is a nice-to-have
