Job Summary
Own Proxima Fusion's licensing and regulatory strategy for Alpha, engaging with German federal, state, and local authorities. Lead the licensing dimension of the site feasibility evaluation for Stellaris at Gundremmingen, partnering with RWE to identify the fastest viable path through permitting requirements. Build durable relationships with regulators and government bodies, representing Proxima in policy forums to shape the fusion regulatory framework. Partner with engineering, finance, and operations to align design decisions with licensing needs and mitigate regulatory risks. Create executable plans that support speed without compromising safety or credibility. Report directly to the COO on regulatory strategy and progress. Based in Munich.
Required Qualifications
- Substantial experience navigating licensing and regulatory environments for complex industrial or energy infrastructure projects
- Comfortable and effective working directly with regulators and government bodies, building credibility and trust over time
- An excellent communicator and relationship-builder, fluent in English
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Munich
Desired Qualifications
- German a strong plus
- Experience in nuclear fission and/or fusion licensing
