Head of Internal Audit

Job Summary
Lead, develop, and manage the internal audit function across Tele2 Group subsidiaries in Sweden and the Baltic region. Execute a risk-based annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee, overseeing financial, operational, compliance, and IT audits to ensure high quality and timely delivery. Report findings, recommendations, and status updates to the Audit Committee and senior management while monitoring the implementation of audit recommendations. Act as a trusted advisor to the business on risk, control, and governance topics, including leading strategic risk reviews and supporting investigations into suspected fraud or misconduct failures.
Required Qualifications
- at least 5 years of experience in internal/external audit
- ability to lead project teams
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Swedish language
Desired Qualifications
- Experience from a publicly listed company or Big 4 / top-tier consulting firm
- A background in telecom, technology, or a similarly complex and regulated industry
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, risk management frameworks, and corporate governance
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to engage and influence at the Board level
- Proven ability to drive accountability and follow-up on audit findings
- Experience with data analytics and audit technology tools
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- Other relevant professional certifications (e.g. CPA, ACA/ACCA)
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Swedish is a strong advantage
