Job Summary
Head of Internal Audit leading a global, independent internal audit function to support growth and strengthen governance. Responsible for establishing and directing the global audit program across financial, operational, compliance, IT and process audits; defining the audit charter, methodologies, universe, and risk-based annual planning; developing tools and templates, selecting an audit management solution, and designing a 12–18 month roadmap for function build-up including budget and staffing/outsourcing concepts. Collaborates with Finance, Operations, IT, Legal, Quality/Regulatory and regional leadership to perform company-wide risk assessments and derive a rolling multi-year audit strategy; leads end-to-end audits from scoping to remediation and reporting to management and the audit committee; strengthens control awareness and supports M&A due diligence; travels internationally about 10–15%; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders; multilingual (English and German); experienced with ERP systems (notably SAP); familiar with COSO and IIA standards; able to develop governance and control improvements and drive continuous improvement; offers a hybrid work model in Germany and a broad benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, business law, (business) informatics or a comparable field
- At least eight years of relevant professional experience in internal or external audit, risk management or compliance
- CIA, CPA or CISA professional qualification
- Experience auditing ERP systems, especially SAP
- Strong knowledge of COSO framework and IIA standards; experience with IT and business process controls
- Ability to lead a global internal audit function; stakeholder management with executive board and audit committee
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 10–15%)
- Fluency in English and German
