Job Summary
Head of Risk & Resiliency will execute Risk & Resiliency frameworks for Financial Protection & Retirement Solutions (FPRS) and Client Solutions & Wealth Management (CSWM) within Guardian’s Individual Markets. Oversees the operational risk profile across multiple domains, aggregates risk, ensures alignment to risk appetite, and provides independent risk insights to leadership. Facilitates Risk Working Groups, escalates to risk committees as warranted, maintains the Risk Register (ServiceNow), and drives maintenance of consolidated risk data and reporting. Leads development and testing of business continuity plans, disaster recovery and crisis management activities, and fosters a risk-aware culture across the organization. The role requires a visible, trusted adviser who can partner with senior leaders, risk governance, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive risk-informed decision-making. Location is Hybrid with 3 days in Guardian offices (Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel, NJ; Stamford, CT; Bethlehem, PA; Boston, MA; Pittsfield, MA) and 2 days WFH. Salary range $132,420.00 - $217,545.00 and eligibility for incentive compensation. Visa sponsorship not offered; must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operational risk management or a related risk discipline within the financial services industry
- strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
- flexibility and resourcefulness in managing multiple priorities
- ability to accelerate impact and lead change
- excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- experience with risk domains such as Technology, Cyber, Data, Model, Compliance, Third Party, etc.
