Job Summary
The Head of HCM at Portage Point leads and evolves the firm’s people, talent acquisition and administrative operations within a fast-paced, sponsor-backed environment. The role reports to the COO and manages HR, learning and development, talent acquisition, executive assistant and office management teams. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing HR strategy, cross-border talent development, culture and engagement initiatives, performance management, learning and development programs, total rewards, onboarding/offboarding, compliance (including FINRA broker-dealer considerations), workforce planning, recruitment operations, analytics, and AI-enabled HCM processes. The position requires collaboration with business leadership to build a highly engaged, skilled workforce, and relocation to New York; strong communication, vendor coordination, and a track record of leading HR initiatives in high-growth settings are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
- Located in or willing to relocate to New York
- 15 plus years of HR experience within high-growth professional services, financial services, investment banking and/or private equity-backed environments, including at least 10 years’ experience in HR business partner or strategic HR role
- Knowledge of state and federal employment / labor laws and statutes (OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII and other DOL regulations preferred)
- Superior written and verbal communication skills (executive-ready presentation and reporting)
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
