Head of Function & Model Development Fuel Cell On-Board Diagnostics (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Team Lead for Diagnostics Functions & Models in fuel-cell on-board diagnostics. Leads a global R&D-oriented team of around 10 engineers, responsible for deriving system and application software requirements for heavy-duty truck applications, and for the specification, development and documentation of diagnostic functions, models, monitors, statistical methods and service procedures with validation on test benches and vehicles. Coordinates external engineering service providers and defines remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance solutions. Oversees end-to-end OBD coordination, calibration compliance, and contributes to current and future OBD regulations and ASPICE. Includes Software-in-the-loop (SiL) simulation, virtual calibration, development of data-driven analysis scripts and dashboards, and adoption of AI-based data mining approaches on large-scale fuel cell system data. Requires university engineering/natural sciences degree, several years in automotive embedded software and vehicle diagnostics, leadership potential, collaboration skills, basic product development compliance understanding, and fluency in German and English.
Required Qualifications
- university degree in engineering or natural sciences
- several years of professional experience with strong expertise in automotive embedded software development, particularly in vehicle diagnostics
- strong understanding of complex interactions in mechatronic and/or physico-chemical systems
- proven leadership experience or clear demonstration of leadership potential, combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- open-minded, collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- basic understanding of technical compliance in product development
- business fluent in German and English
