Head of FP&A for Consumer and Small Business Banking

Job Summary

Lead monthly corporate forecasting processes for Consumer & Small Business Banking lines of business, refining inputs to produce accurate 50/50 forecasts and standardizing digitized workflows. Develop annual budgets, three-year strategic plans, and ad-hoc scenario analyses incorporating economic upside and downside factors. Create high-quality financial reporting for Executive Leadership, performing variance analysis to explain performance trajectories and risks. Conduct financial analysis for BAU activities, M&A, and investment opportunities while ensuring strong governance frameworks and system performance through automation partnerships. Build a high-performing team with clear roles and expectations, partnering vertically and horizontally with Corporate Finance, Treasury, and Line of Business CFOs. Requires 10+ years in financial analysis and banking industry experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance, or equivalent education and related training
  • 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance; good understanding of banking industry
  • Intellectually curious and a critical thinker– wants to understand the 'why', listens well, and asks good questions
  • Demonstrates exceptional analytical skills, coupled with strong data visualization skills to effectively communicate recommendations by presenting complex concepts/ideas in concise, easy-to-understand terms to senior leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task; possess a strong work ethic and unyielding commitment to detail, excellence, and quality
  • 10+ years of financial institution / bank experience
  • Vision and drive to evaluate processes and reporting for efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office software products
  • English (Required)
  • 1st shift (United States of America)

Desired Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of banking and financial services industry, including technical aspects of regulated financial institutions – including net interest income/margin, interest rates, balance sheet management and pricing, capital, liquidity, etc.
  • Knowledge of financial industry business practices and banking corporate finance practices
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of financial systems, such as SAP BPC or Oracle Hyperion
  • Mastery of financial tools, practices, concepts, and systems used by Truist
  • Strong process management and process controls experience
  • CPA, CFA, and/or similar accreditation is a plus
