Head of Forward Deployed Engineering

Job Summary
Lead the Forward Deployed Engineering team embedded with customers, architecting agentic workflows and deploying solutions from first demo through live production to drive measurable outcomes. Own the technical win for complex, multi-stakeholder deals by partnering with Account Executives, conducting deep technical discovery, and serving as the credible authority on architecture and AI capabilities. Build the end-to-end FDE playbook, including reusable demo templates and solution patterns, while synthesizing field signal into prioritized product requirements to scale repeatable motions. Travel up to 25% to customer sites, reporting to the Co-Founder and CPRO to influence the category-defining platform that transforms how manufacturers execute.
Required Qualifications
- 8 to 12+ years in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Presales
- time leading or mentoring other engineers
- Proven track record owning the technical win in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals
- carrying solutions through to live production deployments
- presenting credibly from engineers to executives
- Strong technical fluency with APIs, data structures, and system architectures
- comfortable writing scripts and integration code (Python, SQL, API integrations)
- Strong working understanding of modern AI systems, including LLMs, agentic workflows, and retrieval
- Demonstrated ability to build tailored demos and POC environments

- Experience translating complex customer requirements into clear product or engineering inputs
- Willingness to travel to customer sites regularly, up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
- A plus: domain expertise in industrial or manufacturing environments
- CPQ platforms (Salesforce CPQ, Oracle CPQ, Tacton, Epicor CPQ, or similar)
- ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, Infor, Dynamics)
