Job Summary
Head of Finance to own the financial engine of Portable’s growth: lead group finance across multiple entities, deliver monthly reporting and forecasting to the CEO/SLT/Board, manage cash and working capital during acquisitions, ensure statutory compliance and audit-readiness, provide financial support for buy-and-build and acquisition finance, oversee banking relationships, and lead the finance function with a view to strategic, commercial decision-making. Responsibilities include consolidation across five to seven trading entities, integration of acquisitions, pricing and project economics for major proposals, and partnering with the Director of Delivery on studio margins and utilisation. The role sits on the Senior Leadership Team and involves coaching finance staff, potential expansion of the function, and direct mentorship from the CEO/co-founder.
Required Qualifications
- CA or CPA qualified or equivalent experience, working toward it
- Senior finance experience in services/agency/consultancy/professional services ($15M+ revenue) as financial controller, finance manager, finance director, or head of finance
- Group consolidation, statutory reporting, and ATO experience in Australia
- Commercial fluency with P&L, pricing, utilisation, margins, and team economics
- People leadership experience and capability
- Exposure to M&A — due diligence, completion accounts, or integration
