Head of Executive Communications

Job Summary
Lead the team of executive communicators to develop and execute global strategies for Roche's Board, Executive Committee, and key division heads. Define long-term vision and objectives while recruiting, coaching, and managing talent with a focus on digital and AI trends. Draft speeches, talking points, briefings, and video scripts for executives; provide rehearsals and performance feedback. Represent External Engagement on cross-functional teams to break down silos and leverage learning across business areas. Co-create strategic agendas for speaking engagements and support media interview preparation. Contribute to quarterly business results reporting and ensure robust development of industry-leading executive communications plans.
Required Qualifications
- relevant degree in Communications or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in communication with a global scope
- experience in communication covers a variety of disciplines: public affairs, media relations, issues management and executive communications
- excellent leadership skills
- extensive people-lead experience with larger-scale teams
- experience in fast-paced, matrixed, and multicultural environments
- robust abilities to develop and manage larger-scale global communications strategies, plans, and activities
- excellent consulting, active listening, and analytical skills
- strong influencing, negotiation, and partnering skills
- proven track record of presenting to and coaching senior company executives/audiences
- full fluency in English and German (excellent verbal and written communication)
Desired Qualifications
- preferably collected in the healthcare, biotechnology or related industry
- PR agency experience supporting pharmaceutical or other healthcare clients
