Job Summary
Lead the Everyday Banking Compliance function for Lloyds Banking Group, acting as the Group risk lead on Everyday Banking compliance across current accounts and savings products; interpret regulations (BCOBS, PSR, PROD, Consumer Duty), develop risk-based oversight plans, provide independent challenge to risk decisions, oversee risk and control oversight, lead the development and implementation of a risk and control oversight plan, and provide leadership to the Conduct, Compliance and Operational Risk function as part of the Extended Leadership Team. Collaborate with business executives to develop opportunities to better meet customers’ needs, adopt new technologies, and drive outcomes that align with the Group’s risk framework. Requires substantial senior leadership in compliance with deep regulatory knowledge and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly, build relationships with regulators, and guide risk-based decision-making. Hybrid working arrangement with two days per week at risk hubs in Cardiff, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, or Leeds.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years’ experience in financial services, including in retail banking, with the majority spent in risk and control functions (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Control)
- 5+ years in a Senior Leadership role in compliance or a similar function at head of or director level
- Demonstrable ability to provide oversight, including testing, as well as advice
- Expert knowledge of BCOBS, PSR, PROD and the Consumer Duty
- Ability to communicate the complex simply
- Ability to provide risk-based, commercial and actionable advice to inform risk appetite decisions by senior business leaders
- Strong relationship management skills and experience engaging directly with senior business leaders
- Experience managing teams
- Willingness to lead a centre of excellence and align with Enterprise Risk Management Framework
- Desirable: Experience in large retail banking, AI in Compliance, digital wallets/assets, and integration/acquisition activity
