Job Summary
Lead the site HSE strategy and governance for Round Lake's 24/7 manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining readiness for OSHA and EPA inspections. Provide overall leadership and coaching to the HSE/EHS team, driving proactive safety culture through GEMBA presence, leader standard work, and shift visibility. Manage the Occupational Health Program, oversee environmental permits, and direct capital projects and contractor safety in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 principles. Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Legal to prevent incidents and sustain business continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, science, or a related field
- 8+ years of related experience
- 3+ years in a management role
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 EHS management system principles
- Professional certification in the environmental or safety field, such as CHMM, CSP, CIH, or equivalent
- Experience in a high-profile leadership position acting as the primary management representative for EHS/HSE topics in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Must be able to carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to push/pull up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work on multiple shifts, including weekends
- Must be able to work non-traditional work hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Must not be allergic to cephalosporin (for product touch roles)
- Must be able to work in a controlled environment requiring special safety gear or gowning
- Must be able to work in confined spaces/areas
- Must be able to work in Clean Room and/or cool/hot storage conditions
- Must not be allergic to cephalosporin (for product touch roles)
- Must be able to receive immunization before performing work within the manufacturing area
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in environmental or safety engineering, Science, Technology, or a related field
- Equivalent advanced experience may be considered
