Job Summary
Lead and oversee Greenleaf's education provision across residential homes in Scotland, designing trauma-informed curricula aligned with Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC for learners with diverse needs. Set strategic vision, manage staff recruitment and development, and ensure compliance with SQA and external moderation standards while reporting regularly to the Board. Build relationships with local authorities, families, and HMIE to drive inspection readiness and safeguarding outcomes. This role blends operational leadership with therapeutic pedagogy within a growing network of nine residential homes. Candidates must hold a recognized teaching qualification and GTCS registration, with substantial experience in alternative education and curriculum development.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Full GTCS registration
- PVG membership
- Substantial leadership experience in alternative/specialist education in Scotland
- Knowledge of HMIE engagement
- Knowledge of CfE
- Knowledge of GIRFEC
- Knowledge of independent special school regulation
- Deep understanding of trauma‐informed, inclusive education
- Deep understanding of relational pedagogy
- Proven track record in curriculum development
- Proven track record in assessment
- Proven track record in quality assurance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building new teams and establishing systems from the ground up
- Knowledge of SQA
- Knowledge of City & Guilds
- Knowledge of ASDAN
- Experience with digital learning platforms
- Experience with outdoor/therapeutic learning
