Job Summary
Head of Design to lead the APAC DJE Studio design practice in Malaysia, shaping design direction for medium- to high-complexity briefs across brand, campaign, social, editorial, presentation, digital content, infographics, and motion-led work. Responsible for mentoring designers, elevating craft, enforcing brand consistency and production readiness, and collaborating with producers, client leads, vendors, and studio leadership across APAC. Will stay close to the work—interpreting ambiguous briefs, defending creative decisions, and driving learning through GenAI-enabled workflows while contributing to standards, templates, and scalable design methodologies. Must excel at reviewing execution, providing constructive feedback, and delivering high-quality work on time, across markets and time zones, with a focus on creating clear, compelling design solutions and maintaining a culture of respect and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
- 7-10 years design experience in agency, production studio, or high-volume content environment
- 2 years of experience leading, mentoring, or supervising designers
- degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Advertising, Multimedia Design, or related field (preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with Figma, Premiere Pro, After Effects, motion graphics, data visualization, illustration, lettering, or editorial design (strong advantage)
- Experience with GenAI tools and AI-enabled creative workflows
- Diverse portfolio across branding, presentations, infographics, digital or interactive content, advertising, social and print design
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to influence stakeholders
- English fluency; APAC language capability a plus
