Job Summary
Head of Data Engineering & Data Products leads the enterprise data strategy and builds scalable data foundations across markets. Defines and executes the enterprise data platform strategy (Azure, Fabric, Databricks or equivalent), enabling multi-country ingestion, harmonization, secure access, governance, and reusable integration patterns. Drives the transition from fragmented reporting to reusable data products across Operations, Finance, Sales/Commercial, and HR, delivering near real-time self-service analytics and operational reporting. Oversees federated analytics enablement, balancing business priorities with scalable product development, and steers intelligent automation and AI-enabled operational workflows. Partners with stakeholders at executive levels to translate requirements into scalable data products, governance, and data provisioning while ensuring compliance with GDPR and healthcare regulations. Leads a ~10-person cross-functional team focused on Data Engineering, Data Products & Operational Reporting, and Intelligent Automation, and manages vendor/partner relationships to optimize technology stack and cost. Success metrics include scalable enterprise data foundations, adoption of self-service reporting, reduced fragmentation, and measurable operational value across markets.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise data, analytics engineering, and data platform leadership
- at least 5 years in senior leadership roles in complex, multi-country environments
- Proven track record in building and scaling enterprise data platforms and product-oriented data operating models
- Deep expertise across Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Products & Self-Service Enablement, Enterprise Integration Patterns, and Workflow Automation & Operational Enablement
- Experience leading federated or hybrid enterprise data operating models
- Strong governance, interoperability, and scalable enterprise data delivery
- Experience in regulated healthcare environments and compliance-driven organizations preferred
- Strong leadership capabilities: build and scale cross-functional teams (data engineering, analytics engineering, data products, automation)
- Experience with modern data stacks (Azure Fabric, Databricks, ERP, CRM, LIS/RIS, APIs) and data integration platforms
- Proven ability to influence C-level stakeholders and business leaders
- Financial acumen and portfolio management including ROI/TCO assessments
- Ability to drive data literacy and data adoption across an organization
- Knowledge of GDPR and healthcare regulatory requirements
- Experience enabling self-service data, data democratization, and scalable data products
- Strong vendor and partner management capabilities
