Job Summary

Lead the end-to-end design, development, and execution of the overarching Corporate Affairs strategy and resource plan in China, ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives and local business priorities. Define the strategic direction for policy advocacy to shape a favorable, pro-innovation business environment for the biopharma industry. Proactively establish and deepen robust networks with key central and local government stakeholders, industrial associations, and senior leaders. Manage strategic presence at top-tier flagship platforms like CDF, IBLAC, and CIIE, while organizing and leading global executives' visits to China and vice versa. Anticipate, identify, and manage risks affecting Roche China's image and reputation, leveraging government relations resources to support crisis management. Requires 15+ years in corporate affairs or government affairs in China, fluency in English and Chinese, and a Master's degree or MPA/MBA is a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • 15+ years' experience working in a corporate affairs, government affairs, or public policy position in China for an international company or organization
  • Deep-rooted network within the Chinese central government and relevant healthcare authorities
  • Fluent in English and Chinese, both verbal and written
  • Proven record of success, excellent knowledge, and rich experience in government affairs
  • Good knowledge of the Chinese government/political system and profound understanding of China's healthcare industry
  • Strong leadership capability to build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Corporate Affairs team
  • Strong leadership and business acumen
  • Strong capability and confidence to work cross-functionally and to build impactful relationships within and beyond the company
  • Strong influencing and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically with great business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit, and excellent presentation skills
  • A self-starter with strong discipline, hardworking, positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • High ethics
  • A demonstrated track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MPA/MBA is a plus
  • Working experience in government is highly desirable
