Job Summary
Head of Consumer Banking & Lending Controller leads accounting, reporting, and internal controls for CB&L, partnering with business leadership to integrate accounting and regulatory requirements. Responsible for strategic leadership, building a high-performing team, driving transformation, automation, and digitization of accounting processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulator reporting (e.g., FR Y-9C, Call Report, FFIEC 101, FR Y-14). Requires deep knowledge of consumer banking and lending products, strong interaction with regulators and auditors, and ability to influence senior leadership while delivering efficient, risk-aware financial reporting and controls.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Experience leading large teams of 100+ individuals
- Controller experience within consumer banking/lending
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting, regulatory reporting, capital, and internal controls within a large U.S. financial institution
- Experience dealing directly with financial regulators and auditors
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience in complex IT/data environments including MIS and data management processes
- Ability to translate concepts and influence decision-making across stakeholders
